This site is currently being redeveloped. Although it will work fine it will continue to look terrible for a while yet. Sorry!

1961: Four years old so I'd have been in Hemel Hempstead and about to start my first year at primary school in a lovely old building a couple of roads away from where we lived which has since been knocked down for housing.

1971: At 14, Living with parents still but we'd moved out to the countryside five years earlier but catching the school bus every day back to the grammar school nearest where I'd previously lived in Hemel.

1981: Now 24 and living with Sarah in Linslade, Beds and working at Sperry Univac in High Holborn. Only time I've actually owned my own home (a 4-bedroom townhouse). Vehicle was a Honda moped which I'd occasionally use to commute to London (taking well over an hour each way!)

1991: Grand age of 34 and I've been in my present flat in Highgate for five years. My dad died shortly after I moved here. I'd dropped out of the computing side of life and was working in the entertainment business called show. Later in the year I'd move to Cardiff (for two months) to be Chief LX in a theatre there, but don't recall what I would have been doing in March. Not sure if I still had the 125 or was on my Renault 5GT turbo which went like the clappers. I think my gf at the time was Anne #2 who sometimes lived with me.

2001: 44 and allegedly living in my present flat but completed the census with my then partner ::spit:: living in the next road so that lesbian could be adequately recorded. Also marked myself as Jedi on the grounds that it is a reasonable ethical code. Vehicle was already my current Mazda MX-3 for which I could actually afford petrol to make it go.

2011; Still here, most of the time. Spending quite a bit of time at my mum's though when this place gets too prison cell-like and I want some fresh air instead. Do I admit to being 54 though? Shocking... Mostly ill with physical and mental conditions which sometimes let me be semi-normal and at other times make life unlovable (and un-liveable).

hmmmn. Census returns miss a ton, don't they. Leaves out my five years or so living in Watford, and five years elsewhere in London ( Kew Bridge, South Kensington, West End, Old Kent Road). I wonder what 2021 will hold for me.
